Freight Forwarder
Our client, a reputable Freight Forwarder company, is seeking a junior Freight Forwarder to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to progress within the freight and logistics industry.
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the movement of goods domestically and internationally
- Prepare and process all necessary documentation for shipments, including customs declarations and shipping notes
- Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to optimise transportation costs
- Ensure compliance with all relevant customs and import/export regulations
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely arrival and resolve any issues that arise
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and related documentation
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics is preferred
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Knowledge of customs procedures and international shipping regulations
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Proficiency in relevant software and the ability to update shipment data accurately
