An established international freight forwarding organisation is seeking an experienced Ocean Export Procurement Manager to oversee carrier strategy and capacity management across export operations.
This is a commercially driven leadership role responsible for securing competitive ocean freight agreements, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring service reliability across global trade lanes.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute procurement strategy for FCL, LCL, consolidation, and specialist cargo exports

Negotiate annual and spot-rate contracts with ocean carriers and NVOCCs

Secure space allocation during peak seasons and volatile market conditions

Monitor and manage carrier KPIs including reliability, equipment availability, and cost performance
-
Provide strategic rate input to support RFQs, tenders, and commercial proposals
-
Analyse market trends, capacity shifts, and geopolitical impacts to inform procurement decisions

Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, internal governance, and audit standards

Lead performance reviews with carriers to drive service improvement and cost control
Ideal Profile

5+ years’ experience in ocean freight procurement or export logistics

Strong contract negotiation and carrier management background

In-depth knowledge of INCOTERMS and international trade compliance

Commercially minded with strong analytical capability

Confident working cross-functionally across sales, operations, and finance
