We are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Operator role on behalf of a growing freight forwarding business that is establishing a new office in Newark.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with freight forwarding operational experience who is looking to grow with a business long term and progress into a more senior commercial or account management position over time.
The business is currently in an exciting growth phase, with a newly established office and ambitious plans for expansion. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team and play a key role in supporting daily operations while helping shape the future of the office as it develops.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting day-to-day freight forwarding operations
• Loading and managing operational jobs within the system
• Completing customs entries and related documentation
• Liaising with hauliers, suppliers, and customers
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
• Providing excellent customer service and operational support
• Assisting with the onboarding and mentoring of future team members and apprentices
The Ideal Candidate
• Experience within freight forwarding operations
• Customs entry knowledge would be highly advantageous
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Confident speaking with customers, suppliers, and hauliers
• Ambitious and eager to progress into a more commercial/account management focused role over time
• Able to work independently within a growing office environment
